Colson Baker, also known as Machine Gun Kelly, is well-known for his distinctive way of singing. Baker was born 22 April 1990, in Houston Texas U.S. into an extended family that was of English Scottish and German descent. As a child Baker, he spent a good deal of time traveling with his parents who were missionaries. James Colson Baker was depressed and was unemployed when Sonia Alane, his mother was divorced from his family when he was barely 9 years old. Baker's dad moved along with Baker to Denver and lived with the aunt of his father. Baker had to endure bullying from fellow kids because of his poverty. His songs are known for their ability to blend contemporary hip-hop and rock music with alternative music. Baker has released four mixtapes over between 2007 and 2010, prior to signing with Bad Boy Records. This Cleveland rapper who raps songs as quickly as bullets, saw an astonishing rise towards the end of 2011, when he switched to self-publishing mixtapes instead of working with respected labels. From there his career skyrocketed and each album charting in the top ten.
